There is a wee story to this car so bear with me. When i was 18 (27 now) i bought a nova GSI.. was my first car and my pride and joy... sold it then thought no more of it... in march i picked up my local autotrader and THERE SHE WAS... £200 quid, spares or repairs... I sold it way back then for £3500.. (NOVA's were expensive then)
So i bought it as a project and decided to put her back to the way i had it when i was 18, which i set about doing its was still the 1600 engine i had it it but 3 days after buying it she blew up... NO big deal.. my mate had a spare 2.0 8v SRI 130 engine in his garage doing HE HAW so 2 days later she had the 20SEH engine in her, torquey engine as well... and here she is just now.
not quite finished. needs a respray, tinted windows and im powdercoating the wheels white. But i always wanted the C20LET in there. so i hunted my local area... No joys so i had to travel and found a FIXER UPPER in middlesbrough for cheap. long journey but i get free fuel and a company car so it was only my time that cost me
there is a LET engine in there somewhere... so i set about stripping it down and rebuilding it from top to bottom it was pretty bad. Needed the block skimmed and rebored and head skimmed and fully rebuilt. pistons were goosed and crank was scored and needed ground. turbo was also shafted.
head was sent away and rebuilt
Bought a second hand turbo and had that reconned for £145 quid plus VAT worked out cheaper than getting a replacment.

bottom end was rebuilt. got the crack reground, oversized shells, new pistons, rings, block was also skimmed.

i bought some paint and set about painting stuff.... its soo addictive

i also found a rear ended jag XK and stole the intercooler... which will be front mounted on the nova
i began the task of building it up but my engine stand STILL had not arrived

WOO HOO, its arrived.
once the stand was hete it was just a case of assembling it all together...
Basically was just to get the engine out and prepped for stitch welding. Il get back to as im just waiting on a crane to lift it out.
Thats her just left sitting on 2 bolts on the mounts ready to be taken out later on tonight.
well thats her all done.... all plumbed, wired and juiced ready to start. Really pleased with the progress of it... Again with the last engine conversion the frustrating thing has been getting the parts here on time. But thats summin i have to work round. Was fun and games trying to get the intercooler, oil cooler, radiator, turbo and fan to fit in such a small place but i found a way....
