I had the saxo from totally standard and after 2 years of owning it i already had it kitted altho i was banned from driving for being a silly boy!
Now as i wasnt allowed to drive it, why not mod it?? a photoshop was drawn up for the intial idea...

So we began, selling the spoiler in return for a smooth boot panel, the boot was smoothed, and also the rear lights were re shaped into this idea
with the boot panel on the car i set about cutting he rear arches for the 17's and a large suspension drop, this was fairly difficult to get right with no sharp edges, and makng sure it was all neat and tidy under the arch that was covering the area
With the arches on the car sorted for the wheels we set about placing the R5GTT arches on the car to see where the work was needed

while working on the rear arches i also started sorting the rear bumper, i cut a recess from a fiesta into the bumper after shortening it, the bumper consists of the sides from a 106 bumper as well, all smoothed together.

Noe with all these parts started there was no turning back and the alteration of the arches with fibreglass started taking place

after a lot of applying of fibreglass, sanding, fibreglass, sanding... sanding and then filler the rear was taking shape

Ross had a great idea to make some custom mirrors at this point and before i could think about it had cut my M3 mirrors in half and had already created the initial idea for hte mirrors and just needed sanded down
the boot was also almost finished as well

Things were getting slow and seemed not to be getting very far with mostly rubbing things down, picking out holes, finding uneven sections of the fibreglass layers and evening them out, after a long while it started to look positive with the rear taking this form AND the mirrors being complete

with the back end looking mostly complete attention turned to the front. The front bumper was cut in the middle, the front arches had to be cut in half and extended by 2 inches, then once again the fibreglassing started again...
with many more weeks of rubbing down and applying fibreglass, things were taking shape at the front as well

With this look giving a bit more of a positive attitude, more work carried on until it hit the body shop for its final prep before painting

Then the fun began..Masking then Undercoating!!

then the final undercoats were applied, finishing in a barbie style pink before paint!

After removing all of the masking, and replacing all of the rubber seals, windows, catches etc.. i had i painted rolling shell ready for an interior...

The interior started as a simple pair of door pods... that suddenly turned into a full on show interior as you'll see

with a simple set of door pods built, they were heavily covered in 2pack primer before wet and dried down to give a silky smooth finish

Now here was the problem.. you cant do the car this far without doing the rest of the interior... so the dash was done the same.. as was the rest of the interior plastics!!

the rear quarters took some imagination and a clever bit of fibreglassing to make them work

Also the drivers side pilar was treated to a nice smooth guage pod

with all the parts finished they all went to the bodyshop for a lick of purple paint

Once all the inteior plastics were either painted purple or black, the interior refit was carried out over a whole day which i thought was pretty good time as with the amount of parts that were laying about i thought it'd take longer...

After fitting everything, wiring everything, cleaning everything and of course getting it mechanically right, MOT'd and on the road Redline magazine came and featued my car with a 4 page feature

I intended to leave it alone at this point but modifying cold turkey set in and before donny 2006 i sorted out all the bodywork problems and treated it to a full respray, wheel refurb and re sprayed in deep glossy metallic black

With all of this complete i took a bit of a carbon fetish and also added a set of cannards for just forthe crack... and that is how the saxo now stands!!

Major thanks to Ross, JP, Scott and SCotty for all the help with the car. Also to Shaggy for the advice and spraying, not to mention te use of his bodyshop and the biccies!!
